I think that carrying a baby inside you is like running as fast as you can. It feels like finally letting go and filling yourself up to the wildest limits." - Author unknown
Oh my heart. I thought I was totally captivated by enchanted forests, but beachy creeks are quite divine.
And talk about being a maternity goddess!! Joni was absolutely beautiful, and I loved putting the finishing touches on her outfit to bring out the boho. She brought her little girl, Ava, along for session. Mom confessed at the beginning that Ava wasn't one to smile much for pictures. But I worked my magic -- there hasn't been a child yet in 7 years that I haven't won over. ;) Ava was very excited to get into the creek (and I totally was too!), so after poking around in the trees for a bit, we headed that way.
Creeks certainly LOOK idyllic. Being a city girl, I had this idea of what it was like to walk in creeks. I was totally wrong about how it works. I doubt walking on live coals would have been much more comfortable! Thankfully we didn't hit any trigger points to send mom into labor! ;) It was worth it though. And now I know next time to have everyone bring some sort of water shoe.
I asked mom if she knew what she was having. "A boy! His name is Jude. As in The Beatles." Then she after a moment she added, "and the Bible."
As it turns out, we cut it close to the due date, and Baby Jude was actually born right before I got this post up . . . Oops. Can't wait to meet him in a few days!! Mom is bringing some stuff from his nursery that I'm super excited about. It's going to be adorable.
PS -- I got into the car after this session and discovered I had TWO sets of sunglasses on my head. The struggle.
