MOMMY & ME PREP GUIDE
Hi momma! I'm so excited to have you be a part of the project! We are going to have a great time together, and I can't wait to get beautiful pictures for you!
In order to have the best session possible, there are a few things that are important for you to know.
This little guide will help you feel prepped and ready for your session, and make sure everything goes as planned.
#1 : LATE COMERS' SESSIONS WILL BE CANCELED
I hate to start off on a bummer note. :( But this is probably the most important piece of information. Mommy and me sessions are scheduled back to back, so if you are late, even by 5 minutes, there will not be enough time to get enough pictures for you before it is the next mom's turn.
If you are late, you will have to pay another session fee to reschedule.
If you have any questions about the location, please get in touch with me before the day of the shoot. As mentioned above, sessions are back to back, so I most likely won't be able to answer calls or texts if you get lost on the way to the session.
PLAN TO ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLY TO FIND PARKING
It's not uncommon at the locations I use to only have available parking that is 5 to 10 minutes away from where we will be taking pictures, so be sure to come early.
FULL details about your location will be emailed to you 48 hours before your session.
#2: don't put pressure on your kids
When parents come to sessions telling their kids they MUST smile, MUST be on their best behavior, MUST look at the camera . . . guess what happens? Almost every time it's a disaster. And the pictures look fake. Blah!
what actually works: just play, give lots of cuddles, have fun
Leave the hard work to me! I've been photographing kids for over 7 years, and I know how to engage them and get good pictures by working with them, not against them. So you don't need to worry. Just play with your kids, love on them, and I'll get gorgeous, authentic photos for you that you will love.
and don't skip a nap or a snack!
A fed, rested kid that's being given lots of love is a kid who is ready for pictures. Anything else is probably a recipe for a meltdown.
#3 : WHAT TO WEAR
Pick comfortable clothes that are a little more dressy than what you would wear day-to-day, but still casual. Small stripes, detailed prints, and camo should be avoided.
#4 : what to bring
Feel free to bring along one or two special toys or activities you like to do with your children.
Also feel free to bring a little snack and some water/juice.
If you have any special items that represent a child who has passed, or pictures of a child who has passed, you are more than welcome to bring those things along and have them incorporated into your session.
#5 : WHAT to BUY
About 5 to 10 days after your session, you will get a private watermarked online gallery to view your images.
This gallery will be available for 2 days only, money must be put down before the gallery closes in order for images to be held.
There will be around 30 images total.
You can pick digital images, a book, or both to purchase.

the mommy questions
If you would like to have me help you tell your mommy story for free, please return your story form BEFORE your session.
NOTE: sometimes your browser can crash before you finish writing your story. It's best to write the answers down in a word document on your computer, and then copy/past into the form.
The questions I ask will jog your memory, ignite your heart, and spark your creativity. Just write from your heart, don't worry about being perfect! It will all start to flow naturally as you write.
